Michelle has worked for FARO Technologies since 2003 in both operations and strategy. At FARO, Michelle has been a part of projects in support of customers including GE Energy, the US Army, NASA, Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, Hyundai and hundred of other initiatives. The type of projects have included development of inspection routines, customization of training programs, and adapting new technology to enable modifications and upgrades of aircraft & vehicles onsite instead of transporting them.

Michelle is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Coordinate Metrology Society. Founded in 1984, the Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) is a large membership of users, service providers, and OEM manufacturers of close tolerance, industrial coordinate measurement technology. These metrology systems include inspection software, traditional CMMs, theodolites, GPS, laser projection systems, laser trackers, laser radar, photogrammetry/ videogrammetry systems, scanning devices, and articulating arms.

 Michelle received a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. She lives with her husband and three children in Ormond Beach, FL.

Dawn Gilpin [M.Arch. SCI-Arc] is Lecturer IV in Architecture at Taubman College. Dawn is the Director of Empathy in Point Clouds [EIPC], a multi-disciplinary team that uses terrestrial laser scanning, aerial laser scanning, and photogrammetry to produce digital storytelling and spatial narratives of contested sites of occupation. The team develops workflows for digital twin creation through immersive platforms in education and research. She teaches architecture design studios and has developed courses for 3D terrestrial lidar scanning, FARO certification, foundations of Unreal Engine, and photogrammetry.

Robert Adams 


Robert Adams [M.Arch. SCI-Arc] is an Associate Professor of Architecture at Taubman College, the Stamps School of Art & Design, and the Digital Studies Institute at the University of Michigan. Additionally, Robert directs the University of Michigan Initiative on Disability Studies. Robert’s research focuses on the interplay between art, architecture, and design through disability culture, civic infrastructure, and responsive environments.

She is a former police officer in Ohio and a nationally recognized expert in areas of crime scene investigation and reconstruction, 3D laser scanning, bloodstain pattern analysis (BPA) and shooting incident reconstruction (SIR).  She has processed countless homicide scenes, officer-involved critical incidents, shooting scenes and everything in between.
